The 20B Tuning Thread
I was talking to CCarlisi the other night and I figured that we should have a general tuning thread for 20B's. Stuff that should transfer over to all ECUs. What i want the most out of my standalone is for it to act like its a stock ECU under startup and normal driving. Most of the E11 and Microtech guys have the advantage of having some pretty perfect maps set up for them that are plug and play. For the rest of use we could share some information.
Also elevation and porting are 2 factors that you should include for pressure sensitive information.
I'm Stock port at 2700 ft
First on my list:
What does everybody run for primepulse and Cranking MS times?
What about warmup enrichments?
Tempscaling?
I hope this thread can help some people out
I'll also get up my base spark map here in a few

How are you running your ignition with The MS2? Are you firing both leading and trailing together? Last I looked Megasquirt 2-extra didn't have ignition support for a 20B.

I believe that spinoff was called "Megasquirt AVR" originally ,but it didn't go down too well with the Megasquirt guys.I'm suprised they are allowed to use the MS tuning software. How do you like it? Originally it had much more potential but very little support/user base for the average joe.Anyways back on topic.

I think it still has more potential than MS but that could just boil down to personal opinion. The user base is growing pretty fast. I noticed that once a forum was created and when they released the "prebuilt" V3.3's the "average joe" user base grew. I like this ECU alot; It's cheap and there tons of features and possibilities with it.. I'm still trying to figure out why my injectors arent staging correctly.

As those of you that visit the EMS section know, I'm curious about what people are using for cranking MS. I am having a b@$%& of a time getting my car to start. It idles fine around 1.4ms at 1500rpms with 83lb primaries yet doesn't seem to come close to starting at 3-7ms.

does your car crank for a long time and then start? it seems like best starting is by injecting a lot of fuel, almost to the point where it floods. its also temprature dependent, ie when you get it to start right up on a hot summer day, in the middle of winter, you're looking at a dead battery....
i need to get on another computer to find my map, but 7ms sounds way too low
