20B swap, what is needed after...
If i got the (cosmo)engine, turbos, wiring/computor, sensors, tranny(auto), fully dressed and running: what would be reguired to:
1)put in a 5spd rx7 FD. Just pull off the auto and go or are the sensors etc different?
2)will the ecu harness hook up inside the car ok or is it a nightmare. radio, windows etc, will they all be different or is it a decently easy process. Im talking about the engine harness to the car harness. the computor and everything is included but i didnt know the exact differences.
3)the modifications to the engine bay... i know the brace has to be modified but what does that entail.
I know this is old news but ive never done it and i just stumbled across a 20B for cheap. I could get it for 2.5-3.5/4k. over that, how much would it all cost if i had all the parts that come with the car. could i buy the engine for that price and install it with quality for 10k. i can put it in myself but any fabrication i will have to pay a guy for. if theres any welding does anyone know where to get templates etc.?

2)yes, no cutting and splicing, not much as far as upgrades go but for a straight swap will work fine.
3)still dont know the anwer here. they all say 10k yourself and 35k for someone else to do a full conversion. th only part i would need help with is acual modification to the cars chassis for fitiment purposes. i can install all wiring and parts. Anybody know the approx cost for just the cutting and welding or whatever it takes for the fitiment of the extra demensions. I am looking for someones testimonial really. i will have the money but dont want to waste it if need not be.
Any help is greatly appreciated. maybe i could answer my questions if someone could post a pic or point me to a pic of the conversion in process at the points of modification that im unclear on.
ok....heres the short version, and this has been covered many times.
you cant use the ecu, you dont want to use the auto tranny. use whatever 5 spd that comes in the chassis that the 20b is going into. you will need: fuel system, intercooler, ems, clutch, motor mounts (if FD then you need new subframe) a custom exhaust, etc...if you search you will find tons of info.
