20B swap questions
ok so is there anyone who has done the 20b swap on here that can answer some of my questions about modifications and price of the total swap...i was wanting to do a 3 rotor mild street port and since i wasnt going with a "drag" setup i was going to use a to4r with a 1.00 a/r (now for anyone saying i cant use that turbo explain in detail why i cant...the last thing i want is a bunch of know it alls who have never done this but think they know why so explain in detail...the turbo is bigger than the stock 20b twins so explain why this wont work....im not looking for a huge horsepower 20b since this will be a daily driver just something that tight boost response so if you know a "better" suited turbo setup for what i am looking for explain).....basically i am looking for 400 whp-500whp not a dyno queen.
i am also interested in subframe mod info, steering rack, transmission,driveshaft...etc...etc...
thanks guys

Usually I just suck it up and answer questions like this, but moconnor is right, read the FAQ in the 20B section of this forum and you'll have all of your answers. Or search for me and see my thread on a 20B buildup. It might make you think twice about doing the conversion.
And the turbo of choice would be something much larger than the To4r, even if you don't want a dyno queen. The stock twins run out of air at about 5,500 RPM on a mild street port and I would assume the same would happen with the To4. I would go with a GT42r BB or a T51R BB (this is what I have). Because the 20B has much more torque, these turbos work great and spool up very fast (about 3,000 RPMs or so). If you only want 400-500 WHP, keep the boost levels down. I made 450 at 10 PSI on mine and it's fun to drive at this level. Of course, 600+ is even more fun.
For the rest of your "explain in detail" questions, read the FAQs and do a search. Take a little time and you'll learn a lot.
