Has twin turbos stock and makes 300 horses, torque is something like 250.

Not sure about torque, but its alot, and it has a bit down low unlike the 2 rotor setups.

As far as horsepower goes, it was 280hp, because of the japanese manufacture's gentlemens agreement. they did this by using insanely small ports.

Found this info in a press kit from the Tokyo Motor Show a fews back.

The Eunos (Luxury Division of Mazda) Cosmo, Launched in April 1990, was the world's first series-production car with a 3 rotor engine Type 20B-REW with Sequential Twin Turbo system, developed a maximum power of 280ps in a smooth and responsive manner. The body was exclusiely designed for the "full size" category in Japan. The cabin was spaced as a luxury 2 +2. The interior materials-leather and wood- were examined from the stage of raw materials. The engine, suspendtion, automatic transmission and air cond were all electronically controlled. The car was sold from 1990-1995.

Specs.

wheelbase 2750mm
weight 1610 kg
power 280ps@6500 rpm
torque 41.0jg @3000 rpm
transmission 4speed automatic (only)

The car was also sold with the twin turbo 13B as found on the RX7. The maximum ADVERTISED power rating is 280 by law for any Japnese car sold in Japan no matter which car it is. The Cosmo had at least 300ps. Sorry for the the metric specs. Will have to try and transcribe them into English/US measurements.

I think you will find that the HP figues mazda gave are all ****. Imagine a 1650kg luxury car with a slow changing auto running flat 14 second 1/4 miles with only 280HP? 400Nm of torque sure helps, but power is said to be more likely around the 300-320HP and the ports are FAR from small.

There were two 20B engines produced by Mazda:
1) The 20B-REW with twin (one medium, one small) turbos, which was only available in the Japanese-only JC Cosmo luxury car.
2) The 20B Race engine that was non-turbo, peripheral-ported, and available only to race teams. This replaced the 13G 3-rotor race engine. Horsepower was around 450-500, depending on the racing rules.

See the JC Cosmo link here:

However, I'm not sure where he got those hp numbers from. The official Mazda rating from the sales brochure is 280ps @ 6500rpm, 41.0kg-m @ 3000rpm (276bhp @ 6500rpm, 296 ft-lbs @ 3000rpm).

Everyone should have a 20b. It'd probably solve world hunger, create world peace and make Robocop a reality! Let's blame Ford for that not happening.

What can I say, I like Robocop

...Oh... yeah... Rotaries too. Its a damn shame that Robocop drove a Ford Taurus instead of a 7...
