20B Reliability

I read the FAQ and everything, but tonight I heard disturbing news. I told someone that owns an Fd3 I was looking at a few Rx-7s right now to buy. One of them being a 20B...

The response I got was to stay away from them they can be trouble? Now I'm a little weary about them. Anyone care to clear my mind of doubts....

I've been reading up and down the 20B forum for the past hour or two. <sigh> Although I've seen some good comments about them. I'm still weary.

no problems here, i would say the 20b is no better or worst than the 13b.
just more power from an extra rotor.

for a given power level a turbocharged 20B (VS a turbocharged 13b) can run less boost and should be therfore more reliable.

Much more reliable than 13b, 1 extra rotor = less stress on engine. You cant rev as high because of the middle rotor, (no counter weight to off set its weight) but have alot more reliable power throughout the band. If it is built and tuned right, you could have a long lasting, high powered street car. I have gone through 6, SIX 13b motors high HP and for a small motor (not a good combo)
13B good for about 325 HP reliably (every day beating) after that you gotta watch it.
