I just want to see what he'd say......

though, that isn't far off if you just drop a car off at a shop and say, "I want to pick up a fully built and tuned 20B when I come back in 2 months." "Possibly with a big single too."

I dont think $30,000 will be enough for a professional transplant.....

I was quoted 30k by a reputable shop on the east coast of the US......so I'm going by that.

$30-40K or more depending upon not only the transplant but the "extras" that are done at the same time.

It is such a nightmare to try and get the stock Cosmo ECU and coils working in an RX-7 that you are better off just using a cheap standalone EMS like the Microtech LT12S if you want to limit your expenses. Just be advised that this is NOT a cheap project, and it involves a lot of customization and tuning that is not suited for somebody who is accostomed to easy bolt-on modifications. You can see RETed's FC guide for basics, but add a custom engine subframe ($1,500-$2,500) for your FD.

That's a pretty accurate quote in my opinion. Most pro shops in the US are closer to $35K, but as with any custom procedure, prices vary depending on what you start with and what you want to end up with.
