20b powered NSX?

Ive been trying to come up with a very unique idea for a vehicle to use a rotary in and ive come up with the idea, what about using a 20b in a NSX? What do you guys think. I know the engine in the NSX is already a ready powerhouse, but I love the way the rotaries work and what they can do. Plus the uniqness of someone having a rotary alone is awesome.

I would say very hard indeed. The V6 in the NSX sits side on and the rotary would have to be mounted the same way to fit in. Many green notes would be needed for something like that. It would ,and i hate to say it, a shame to rip apart an NSX like that, in my opinion, as you say the NSX is a ready powerhouse as is.

Would make for a very intresting project tho!

The NSX wasn't a powerhouse. That's the area where it was lacking. They had 270 horsepower when they first came out and 290 in '97 or so. Hardly supercar numbers.

But A 20B NSX would just be... awesome...

How about in an Ultima? Would a 20B fit in an Exige/Elise? I'm thinking you'd encounter the same problems as in the NSX.

Exactly the v6 in the 08 and newer accords are just as powerful. I think a 20b conversion would be nice in that chassis if it fits. But I think the 20b block is longer than the v6 so it may not. The horizontal placement will leave less room.

isn't a stock 20b close to those numbers in horse power though?

Why in the hell would you want to hack up a nice car like the NSX to stick in a 20b? Honestly it wouldnt be worth the time or effort. There are plenty of people out there making 400hp on stock nsx engines with 100k on them and the stock transmission with a turbo kit. You cannt beat that reliability.
Since your in the pacific rim you shouldn't have any problem getting a cosmo or a rx to swap a 20b into one.

Go re-read the 1st post. His request to do this project has more to do with it being unique than it not being practical. It's always more special to have something no one else in the WORLD has. I get goose bumps just thinking about hearing a 20b in the back of my ears in a mid-engine set-up. Oh yea turbo 4 rotor would fit really nice in your avatar.

Personally I can't wait to get rich someday so I can build my own Fuari based 4 rotor mid engine exotic.

Yah I can see where you are coming from about replacing the engine. ive been looking at some NSX's that are running 750hp on pump gas and the stock transmission. But as I was saying im looking for something unique and this would be awesome.

Is there a place I can find some of the dimensions of of the 20b? Id like to see if its possible to adapt the NSX tranny to to the 20b. If the 20b doesnt fit im sure I could put a 12a in there.
