www.k2rd.com makes mounts and i'm using the haltech e6k, although they just announced the e11 which looks like a better choice.

your engine temps are staying down with the nose on?
I have been driving my car with out the nose now
for a couple weeks in 30C + days with no problems,
running a nice cool 185 to 195F.
with the nose on there was no way I could drive it on a
hot day without seeing 210 to 230F.
I will be making a couple extra openings in the nose,
or was thinking of getting that mariah nose, just not
sure if I like the look of the mariah nose...

i know what you mean about the mariah nose. mine runs between 83-90c the fan will cycle on and off and it seems not to care too much about the outside temp

Mike,

I am just starting on a 20B into a 87 TII chassis.... I have some questions, I hope they aren't too annoying to you!

1) What radiator and fan setup?
2) Does the stock nose give you enough airflow?
3) Are you using a TII trans and rear?
4) Are you using a 13B or 20B water pump?
5) Do you have a webpage where these questions are answered?

Thanks so much!

Brian

90c isnt to bad its when you start to see over 100c
if your car is anything like mine with the nose on
add a hot day, some boost, and you will have high
temps in no time.
If all you are seeing is 90C that great, i just wish i knew
how you were doing it..

1. k2rd radiator, its sized for the 20b, with one big spal fan and one thin one
2. seems like it does, i dont have any overheating problems
3. yup stock t2 stuff
4. the stock 20b pump. i almost did a t2 water pump, but the turbo water hoses are a weird size so i left it stock
5. click on the www, but the answer is no, i would think a search on the forum would be the best bet, thats what i did

now, do you have an oil temp gauge? sometimes when the oil is too hot it will affect the water temp. b) the car is not really on boost foor more than 10 seconds at a time, traffic moves kinda slow =), if i went to the track or something i bet it would get hotter. also the k2rd radiator is double pass that might have something to do with it.

mike, I have checked the oil temp with my no touch
thing and it is almost the same temp as the water almost
all the time. the rad that I have it huge custom made
double pass, and on the highway the temps will go up
I think part of my problem is that I put the IC in the opening
at the bottom in front of everything I think the IC is just
putting to much heat in front and blocking air flow to much.

that could be. my intercooler is in front too, but its not very big. do you have the undercover on? i dont and my oil cooler is "lowered". maybe you should put a rubber flap between the radiator and the ground, like a gm car? i was thinking about doing that, but i dont seem to need it.

Right about now, I'm wishing i had a 20B water pump. I had to use my T2 water pump and I'm not sure that the alternator is going to clear the hood. Also, the 13bt pump outlet is RIGHT in front of the twin turbo's outlet (going to the FMIC).... so, I either have to A) get my 20B pump back, hack it and put it on. B) Cut the turbo outlet so it will fit around my water pump housing. C) Use my Meziere electric pump and make a bracket for the alternator.

Frustrating.

i looked at using either the 13bt or an fd water pump housing, but i didn't use them because i was changing too much stuff already, the "best setup" i think would be an early 13bt water pump with a gsl-se tstat cover.

You mean a series 4 T2 water pump? The GSL-SE Tstat cover is steel and rather low profile. I have access to a series 4 NA water pump ('87) and a GSL-SE Tstat cover. Do you know if the NA water pump housing will flow as much as a T2?

That's totally cool! I'm getting the NA water pump for sure. I'll see if I can keep my old Tstat cover because it has one of those little square head fittings that can be replaced with an aftermarket water temp sender.

thats even better, those are hard to get, nla new and used ones are sketchy. the gsl-se is the next best, and its also the smallest

Yes they are hard to find. I recently got one for my friend's REPU and it was the last one the guy had. That was also 6 months ago.

The NA water pump doesn't come with a Tstat cover so I'll need to get one. That GSL-SE one may find a home on the old engine while the cool one may go on the NA water pump. I'll have to make that decision when the time comes.
