20B Cost

This isnt anything im planning in the near future, but how much does a 20B swap cost in the end (after all fabrication, etc)
what needs to be done to a TII to get it able to hold a 20B?
thanks

i know of an engine in southern cali for 2800.oo compression looks nice.

and as for the parts... if you already have a nice kit in your car it could save you almost 2000.oo.
Move the parts over... IC, few injectors, BOV, wastegate, Turbo maybe, ect.

ya it doesnt make all the difference but.... keep hope alive,
bryan

If you can get the front clip & ECU from the JC Cosmo, that would help save a bit as well as you'd have ignition, wiring, turbos, exhaust manifold, ECU, intake, fuel rail, etc...

Sticking with stock boost levels and bolting it up to a Turbo II transmission may let you re-use the OEM fuel pump as well.

i find 20bs are just over indulgence when a 13b will do all that a 20b does power-wise.

So how many 13b's do you know of that make, for example over 900 hp? 1000? 1200? 1400?
How about how many 13b's make over 600 ft-lbs of torque? 700? 800? 900?
Not to mention the whole powerband issue.
Come on...

You have got to be kidding right? A modified 13b wont last anywhere near as long as a modified 20b at similar power levels. Plus you don't have to run the engine to death to get the most performance out of them.

i hear what your saying, i was more refering to street use, engine wise.just by the numbers ive seen coming out of austrailia for street-driven rotaries, plenty of 9second 13bts roaming the streets over there,i can see your view on the 20b for drag racing purposes though

thats like asking a mopar owner why hes getting rid of his 318 in opt for that nice 426 hemi. . . it just makes sense. hahahaha. may not cost as much, but more displacement is always a nice thing. . . haha.

Please, can't we stop having to defend our upgrades?
If the mentality is it's a waste of time/money, we're ALL wasting out time/money modding our cars, because a Honda Accord will gets us from point A to point B perfectly fine.

But do we all own Honda Accords?

to answer... i have seen 20b's cost 2600-3700.oo for decent motors

anything too cheap, is too cheap usually.

if your still a twin setup then the conversion to single will be the same (single turbo 13b or single turbo 20b)
as for other parts...
some parts will be on the 20b for you and some you'll need. Dry sump is an option. mounting is an issue...
piping....
and now... see the links people left but its not the nightmare people make it out to be.

I'll let ya know when mine is done...different but the same.
