20B Air flow meter info?

Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone here has any info on the AFM that comes attached to the 20B motors at all? I can't find ANY info on the web about them!

At this stage given the dearth of info available, I'd be happy with anything, but I suppose specifically I'm wondering if they can be replaced with something more standard, say a hot wire or flapper type AFM, given these things are extremely uncommon (yeah, I want to keep standard management for now, otherwise I'd go MAP-sensed, obviously ).

Cheers!

Ok, so any idea on where I might find more info on the guts of this particular AFM type? Can they be serviced/recalibrated?

Cool, the opening without breaking thing was what I feared, from memory it did look like a sealed unit when I last saw it.

Too bad the shop manual I have for my Cosmo is all in Japanese, as the car was never released outside of Japan.

that part is the same as any 89-91 rx7, so you can use the rx7 book to translate

Thanks for the offer, Ted, but it's in PDF format, is huge, and I can't even read the contents to know which page to go to for the relevant info.

I have a mate whose Dad is Japanese though, so I will get him to have a look at some point. In the mean time I'll try and get a series 5 shop manual and check that out.
