Making frequent stops for gas and having a thick wallet is the only way you will be able to DD a boosted 20b FD. An NA 20b on the other hand probably wouldn't be any worse than a boosted 13b, may actually be cheaper if you are running 87 octane.
Cheers, i went to the rotary specialists here in nz, guy replaced my fuel injectors, said they were old and ****, also gave me 2 fuel savers, a tornado thing [just increased hp] and a cool magnetic thing, got a bit more mpg from that! i went from 22 city to about 25! amazing!
How do I daily drive this car? Joyfully! I can't afford a weekend warrior, so it goes to work, to the grocery store, etc. To put things in perspective, most high-powered, exotic cars (Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc.) get similar mileage. Few cars producing more than 400 hp get high mileage numbers. Chevy was able to get high EPA numbers (approx. 26 mpg) by putting an "over-overdrive" gear in it's six-speed tranny that went in the Corvette and the Camaro. I'm not sure what the cars got in the real world.
If I don't sell the car, and if I do a single turbo upgrade, and if the upgraded motor overpowers my T-II gearbox, I'll convert to the Corvette/Camaro 6-speed and see what it does for my mileage figures.
does anyone know the difference in the series numbers? i'm planing to do a 20 for my 93 vr, the guy quoted me at 6000 how does that sound? and also would like to know if there is anything i need too double check on or need to know before jumping in this..
