Talking 20b???

Can a 20B fit in a second gen car???? because my 13B blew in my car a few weeks ago and I've been thinking about using a cosmo engine instead of the regular 13B.

I'll save a lot of headaches by saying this. No.
Even though it's the wrong answer, it's the easiest, since this way we don't argue over how much it will cost to drop a 20B in (~$10k). But, if you're serious, check out http://www.fc3spro.com

Yeah dude, unless you're into custom fabrication, it's going to cost a pretty penny.

Why would you tell him "no"? Of course it fits and many people have done it. It takes money and time, but everything does.

a 13b-rew would be better for the money if you want something different then a 13b or 13bt

You should do a search.. that will most likely make you more confused than you were to begin with. But will give you something to think about.

If you are on a budget, just get a 13BT. Done right it will have more power than you know what to do with anyways, and cheaper than the 20B.

If you aren't on a budget and want something different, and ultimate power, do the 20B. That's my short answer.

Well, there are hardware kits for the 20B swap, the hard parts are the transmission work and that whole full standalone EMS thing.

Not really.
I'd prefer a Cosmo 13B-RE before I'd touch an FD3S 13B-REW...
Hell, I'd rather do a 20B over a 13B-REW...

I said no becaues it's easier, and it keeps the n00bs away. Which is why I said it was the wrong answer, and it'd cost a lot, and to read Ted's site if you're serious.

I've got an idea. How about if you haven't done the swap yourself witnessed it or know for a FACT what you say is true, then you shut the f**k up. Very few of us are qualified enough to denote what we say as fact for these cars, even though it seems some people are beyond convinced that they are.

Do not throw bullshit opinions into a totally fact based discussions, because when you say that it would be easier to do an REW than a 20b you make yourself look like an ***. If you are not sure about the transmissions or rear end being able to mate correctly don't say "I think this won't work" Show us some proof or evidence.

I swear these boards contain twice as much disinformation as information.

RETed is about the only one so far in this thread with the knowledge to state something from experience and maybe Sonic Rat. Otherwise we should all close our big yappers unless we can back up what we say.

Speculation is not an acceptable form of response to technical questions requesting fact.

Yes.

FC 13BT trans will bolt up to a 13B-REW.
You need to swap out to an FC (13BT) flywheel and clutch kit.

FC 13BT trans will bolt up to a 20B.
You need to swap out to a lightened flywheel and FC (13BT) clutch kit.
20B's all come auto trans, so there's an auto counterweight and flex plate back there.

your NA 13b blew and you want to drop a 20b NA in?? too much money for the gains you'll see. 15000.oo plus
now if you want a 20b-T then NO.. 500+hp and 450+ft/lbs will kill you going from an NA 13b
even a 20b-TT would pull about 400hp

still the conversion is too pricey for one who blew there motor and said hey... how about a 20b?

get your hands on a malloy mazda reman 13b-T change out the manifold an make 300hp @18 psi w/ a larger turbo and standalone EMS the motor will be about 1900.oo as compared to a 20b costing 3500.oo plus rebuild in its near future.

Ps the fc tranny info is correct but there is another 800.oo in parts to toss in the mix (fly and clutch kit) QUICK TOTAL before having the engine near the car ***3500+800+2000 (rebuild)=6500approx before having the engine near the car! WALK AWAY!!!!!! RUN!!!

oh and you should have been able to find gen2 20b powered 7's of you searched for them.
People have MADE THEM fit but but that doesnt REALLY mean they fit (cutting the fire wall, notching out here and there, body shaving).

sorry if i assumed your attitude going into this but it took me 4-5months of searching and asking via email before i had the ***** to even say i wanna do i this. Also saved 8k before i made anymore toward the engine.

are you really going to do this??
if so i recommend the single turbo
manifold- 6-800.oo
piping 200approx
IC 800.oo?
rad.400.oo
clutch and fly 800.oo
motor 3300-3800.oo
**rebuild if needed 2k
mod the seq turbos to dual-500.oo? or single 1200.oo
BOV 300.oo
wastegate 450.oo+
injectors 500.oo+ (you'll want fresh ones)
EMS 1800.oo (w/ coils and...)
over 10k b4 mounts are made ,pumps, gauges, exhaust extra sensors....and any labor you need done

expect issues... good luck

research this project a couple weeks before doing anything else
