20b ?

OK, I don't know much about the 3rotor so these ?'s might seem dumb.

1.How much would it cost to have one installed.
2.How much power do they produce stock(w/ Sequential Turbos).
3.Where can I get one.
4.Does anybody still do the labor of droping one in.
5.Reliability issues.
6.MPG.
7.What's their "max" output providing you have a single turbo kit on it.
8.Are they a bitch to maintain.

Thank you very much

check out the 20b forum: https://www.rx7club.com/forum/forumd...?s=&forumid=95

I don't know about 2-8 but as for number 1: You're looking at about $35k for parts and labor.

http://www.pettitracing.com/Frameset.html does it and it's extremely expensive. Check out their Banzai edition. There was a purple one in Turbo mag a month or two ago.

Why don't you just get a set of Border twins?

You can do some research here http://www.3rotor.com/

to do an fc with the stock turbos its about $10,000 in parts and about 350hours of labor. at $50 an hour thats about $27,500. at 5psi it should make about 230-250rwhp, at 9psi it should be about 300-320rwhp, and at 15psi its about 450rwhp. the real difference is the torque, the 20b pulls 5th like the stock engine pulls 2nd, and as a bonus its the smoothest engine ive ever felt

Wow, thanks for the resposes. On a scale of 1-10, how difficult would it be to do the labor yourself?I have 21 grand to blow + if I sell my Vette that would be around 45.I got a great offer for my car by a doctor here in LA so i'd have all that money to buy the FD and get the engine swap.

Labor is not that bad. If you know hot to replace a motor then you can do it. Only PITA is the wiring and making brackets for ****. Not hard just time consuming and expensive, the little **** adds up

That's an "it depends" question. If you have substantial mechanical experience, including custom fabrication and tuning experience, it's probably an 8 or 9. If not, it's a 12 oe 15.

It took 9 months to get my car done at PFS. That was with experience people who knew what they were doing.

If you're not committed to a do-it-yourself project, you can buy mine. Look at www.cris.com/~Asam/20B.html
