13b housings or 20b housings

So I am against sleeving the exhuast ports just because i dont feel very assured tampering with something so refined.

Now with the
Cosmo housings is the exhuast sleeve that big of a deal?

By using fd housings will it make a big enough difference to justify the extra cost?

Personally i have never looked at the exhuast ports of either the 20b or 13b so im in the dark here.

Also can someone explain to me why the 20b exhuast port cannot be ported as greatly.

The only difference between the two is the exhaust sleeves. Both housings can be ported the same. You can either swap the sleeves out or use the 13b housings all together.

So refined?

Quote: (Cosmo housings is the exhuast sleeve that big of a deal?) Yes it is.

The 20b sleeves are very restrictive compared to the 13b turbo sleeves, they were made that way in order to meet emmission standards and restrict hp. From what I understand.

Only buy fd housing if one of your 20b's are trashed, otherwise just replace the sleeves, if you can find 13b turbo sleeves.

The housings are the EXACT SAME except for the exhaust sleeves and the numbers stamped on them.

You dont port the actual sleeve, its replaced. The housings are ported the same to match the larger 13b turbo sleeves.

Yes you are. But thats why you ask questions.

Wrong.........

The 20B-REW engine had the exhaust port sleeves to aid in quitening the engine. Mazda even mention it in their Cosmo sales brochure.

Sometimes........

If you have lost a rotor housing then replace the sleeves & add an FD 13B rotor housing.

You answered your own question..........

The housings are the EXACT SAME except for the exhaust sleeves and the numbers stamped on them.

Ask & you shall receive.............
