I really need some help on a decision. For years now I have been learning the theory of engines and possible setups. I have gathered up too much info and now I am looking for guidance. I have 2 engines a 12a stock with a auto attached. And a 13b 6-port from an 86 FC.

I had been planning a turbo for 7 years now, but I am having second thoughts. So I am going to give you guys what I expect performance wise from my car.

my car weighed in at 2200lbs.

This is not a designated racecar, I am not into dragracing but will be making som runs down the track from time to time.

I would like to make it into the 6 second range for 0-60 times and a low 14 high 13 1/4 mile time would be about as fast I want the car to go.

emmissions are not a concern, and I was thinking of streetporting the 13b.

opinions

Streetporting the 13B, a really good carb, and a full exhaust will get you either there, or very, very close.

i was in that range on a stock port stock carb 12a, but the car was a lot less than 2200lb..

i say street port the 12A(more porting potential on the 4 port 12a than the 13b) and a nice side draft setup.

or...im sure the 13B will be able to just as easily with a nice carb setup and very minor porting

yes, the series 4 intake setup is good up to atleast 400hp. if you want to stay efi tho, get a stand alone.. especially since you are porting.

I am referring to a 6port engine. and stand alone is the goal.

I am not looking to go turbo anymore. Turbo first gens ar not as novel as they were 7 years ago. no offence to anyone. and to me the luster is gone for boost. I no longer have asperations to be the fastest, I just want to have some reliable fun. I am to broke to worry about detonation.
