yet another hood
if you rounded the front corners of the small ones, to the shape of the bumpers corner, and then the middle one the shape of the center section of the umper... then it will look alot better........ make the two corners connect witht he centers line...... I will try to do what I am saying...

you make it, and in carbon fiber, and I'll buy it.
As is. I like the triangle look.

A few options:
1) Vents on the top, a la 280 ZX.
2) Vents in the front valence, between the headlights.
3) Z3 style vents along the hood lines.

something more like this, then? 3 meshed panels, horizontal, in front of 3 larger drop-panel vents following the character lines of the car...
(strut tower clearance on the side isn't an issue as those ones would be very shallow)

EDIT: actually, ignore the 2 outer drop-panel vents. They'd be skinnier than the headlight covers, so the lines wouldn't flow well. So just the broad middle one then, or perhaps itself divided into three.

still to much, in my opinion.. the hood can work with just a center vent, but much more than that is to much (in my opinion ofcourse)..

Thing is, a vent actually draws radiator-heated air out of the engine bay... a scoop, on these cars, is actually in a poor location to draw air in for intake purposes (perssure would actually tend to draw air out and forward, not in and down)
I was thinking the TII style will help draw air to the carb,If I was lookign for a hood to draw heat back from the rad I would like to see some of the carbon fiber hoods produced, the one thats on a white I think SA?Its has louvers and they are vented back,BUT it wil only be affective if your moving, rotarys get hot,BUT I dont think hto enough to have a hood cut out like that, what about the rain or you northern guys with the snow.?..

Wonder how much high-speed front-end lift this could reduce?

not much - most of the front end lift is created by the weak chin behind the front bumper, nut pressure on the hood behind the radiator.
Here's more of a FEED style one:

I like this one, but with only two drop-panel vents, w/o the three open vents before it.
The one before it was ok too.You could combine the two, and have the three open vents across the front, and two drop-panel vents behind it... that could look nice....

I have more top view model shots.
