Yet ANOTHER exhaust question - because we needed one more

OK, so the RB road race exhaust is designed to attach to a stock muffler. The Monza dual inlet muffler (for the 81-82 cars) is designed to attach to the stock center section.

SO, is it safe to assume that I can attach the monza muffler to my RB road race exhaust center piece and have it all mount where its supposed to and attach correctly to each other?

This is a real question... I can get a really good deal on the monza muffler and I happen to need a new muffler.

Thanks, yada yada

Technically yes, but I would rather see you with a rb muffler.

Now why you gonna do all that work, and have a pretty nice set up.

Then cheap out and put a Monza Exhaust on there!

I put Monza on my '83 because the muffler on it was completely rusted through, and I found one that had never been put on that a kid didn't want. Within a few months, the Monza was done for as well. Don't buy it whatever you do. Get a good muffler.

If you could buy 2 Monza mufflers for the same price as 1 RB muffler, would you do it?

Nope. I'd still go with the RB, even if you didn't ask me specifically.

Hmmm, gonna have to wait and think this through a bit then. I really want something that will bolt on and be correct so I dont have to worry about welds breaking or clamps not clamping and my muffler falling off at the dragstrip again.

I have tried.........believe me if anyone's car could kill a RB muffler, mine can.....and I havent been able to blow out my SP RB muffler in 5+ years.Thats with 14psi of boost and the muffler innards glowing dull red during regular running, let alone when Im on it! The inner muffler tubes have a fine, gray ash build up from the heat of my smog legal setup, its so hot that black carbon doesnt even form in the muffler.....and yet,the thing refuses to die,or even waver.

They are THAT good.

And yes,the RB dual pipe header and dual presilencer center section will bolt to the stock 81-82 muffler, the RB streetport muffler or the Monza dual inlet muffler...(assuming its built to better standards than their crap headers)

As said, the front/mid section you have now is pretty penny and one of the best systems going for the 1st gen.Dont foul it all up with a sh*t muffler......
