how expensive was that?? I had a friend last year that has an Avenger (auto tranny 4 banger pos) and he painted the interior and got seats and lights and a steering wheel and crap. well come 2 find out the steering wheel he bought was 240 bucks!! So he started talkin about it and i looked at him and said "NO WAY MAN THATS GOTTA ADD LIKE 20HP WHEN ARE YOU GONNA GET THE NOS STICKER!!" and then he got mad and said that we were gonna race ( my 7 against an avenger LMAO) so i laughed and said "give me the money for the gas im gonna waste smoking you and ill do it" never happend anyway nice wheel !

I have a MOMO Corse in my car and I love it. it was a huge improvment over the 18 Wheeler steering wheel. The cheapest momo hub i have seen is around 40 bucks.

Damn, I wish I could find one of those for $50.

Ebay sells cheap hub adapters that should work with that. But, they ARE cheap, so use caution. You probably won't find one that says it's for the first gen, but anything made for a second gen will work, I think I got mine for like 8 bucks shipped.

Oh yeah, and don't get any of the cheap quick-release ones, they are death waiting to happen.

Yup, I have a 2nd gen hub on my fake Momo wheel. If I remember correctly, most mazdas made in the 80s and 90s had interchangable steering wheels. I was originally looking for a stock S5 leather wheel, but since I could never find one in good condition I got a cheap ebay wheel instead. Even with the cheap stuff, a better steering wheel makes a world of difference on these cars. The stock wheels just suck so much on most of the models.

I don't know how common this is but i have heard (and please someone correct me if i am wrong) that using an aftermarket sterring wheel can cause the stock wheel lock mechanism to kick in while you are driving. I have heard about this before on here but it has been awhile. I love after market sterring wheels but i have shyed away from it because of these horror stories while FB owners are driving and thier aftermarket sterring wheels lock up on them. Any new info on this would be greatly apprecaited. Sorry for the thread hijack but i think it very much pretains to the topic at hand.

Onlyonthurs, the steering lock is actuated by the key cylinder. The steering wheel wont affect it at all.

David - I dont think that wheel will look very good in your car at all. You should ship it to me instead...

I have been driving around for 2 Years and it has never locked up. The only thing I noticed it does do is kick the right blinker way too soon so sometimes you have to hold it.

also, if you dont have power steering, having a smaller diameter wheel than stock will make turning even harder.

You people have got to quit wining about it being hard to turn. I have a 12 inch steering wheel and 215/50/13's all the way around and it still not hard to turn and I am a small person at 5'11 at 120 pounds. The only reason I would see that you would NEED powersteering is if you are running a widebody.

I know!

People think just becuase there is no power steering that it is going to be so hard to turn. My buddy cameron wouldnt take out his PS in his FC to save his life, when we first started hanging out, but he caved in lol

If anything it will help you build up muscle! lol

I want a new wheel so bad, mine is rubber and flakes off in my hand and all over my clothes!
