link?

it also looks like they adapted a 13B intake manifold...

all I can say about adapting 13B manifolds to 12As is "Can you say severe port mismatch?"

Look at the adapter plate they used. I wonder if the air/fuel mixture has to make a sharp turn to get in the 12A ports?

Two of them. And the space available to make the transition is so small that it'd be just like pinching the port by 10mm.

The exhaust ports SHOULD line up, if you just slot the boltholes by 5mm inwards... but still the idea is apalling.

I still don't know how they can put up with the master cylinder/clutch cylinder/steering box/steering shaft/everything else over on that side of the car... rotaries were made for left hand drive

It's the INTAKE manifold they put on a 12A
not the exhaust

IN Japan and Australia

Seems like the differculty level of doing a mod like that would almost merit just doing the whole t2 swap, I mean with high compression rotors you are gonna be kinda limited to the amount of boost. Id like to see a pic of the other side of that motor, I bet its a 13b

Kabooski - I'm aware of that. I guess I should have been more specific - I meant the intake ports would be pinched - but in contrast, the exhaust ports should line up. (I tend not to be the clearest writer sometimes...)

mike - definitely a 12A - look how much the intake manifold overhangs the front side housing.

I thought it was kinda weird that the intake manifold and the thermostat housing overlapped

I'd be afraid to even drive that car. With mirrors and all under the hood. LOL.

But seriously, I am almost glad I have moderate hail damage, minor deer damage, and rust damage that I don't care that much if I destroy it because it would be very simple to swap everything to another car. Before the hail/deer, I felt so scare to ever park near anyone, which I would be for sure with that nice a car!

However, that car looks like its got a good 1000hrs worth of polishing and detail worked into it, it would be too much of a eye catcher for too many people and cops to have a lot of spirited driving and not be noticed.

Looking at that car, it's almost sad... I'd never want to drive it anywhere, but that's the best part about owning an RX-7...driving the **** out of it.

Oh well, it's still a pretty sweet car, and the interior is particularly fetching (tho i'd want to plastic wrap the seats before sitting on them
