yawpower nikki flooding

OK, my car has sat untouched for several years, but I've recently decided to get back into it. The first (of many) problem I have to sort out is the tempermental carb I have on there... it was flooding and filling the engine w/ gas @ 2lbs fuel pressure so I took it apart, inspected the needle and seat assemblies, blasted everything w/ carb clean and put it back together, same thing. Took it apart again, checked for free movement of needles and floats, nothing wrond there so I tweaked the floats. So now, I can get it to stop flooding but can't seem to find a 'sweet spot' between flooding and starving. Usually theres a bit of adjustment between dry float bowls and fuel spilling into the carb, but I can't find it on this one. I've had it apart 10 times today, to no avail. Is there something I'm overlooking? It looks like the only thing in the fuel flow path is the needles, I don't think it could flood any other way.
I've also checked the return line for restrictions, I can blow thru it but it does seem a bit restricted.

Please help, This carb has less than 1 hour on it, I'd hate to have thrown away $400.

What is the fuel presure set at?Is it the 2.5 psi Yaw suggests?Maybe a little oil on the needle, and seats, and on the pivot axle of the floats.

It doesn't take much for the needles to hang up. The last rebuild kit I had, I found I was reading the enclosed float gauge wrong, and the gasket needed to be on the carb to measure the float setting.

If you absolutely positive the floats are set right, I was, 3 different times, then you may want to disregard the fpg. If it is not one of Yaw's calibrated guages, then use the readings for a baseline for fuel pressure adjustments and not as a true pressure reading.

it's yaw's guage and regulator, set at about 2#'s.
I will double check the condition of the floats, pivot pin, and needled today. I have another nikki, I think I'll tear it apart and have a look at the hardware in it.

Thanks for the replies, any other advice is welcome.

I do believe one of the electric solnoids is supposed to shut off fuel when the ignition is turned off. You might want to check those.

If the car has been sitting a long time, have you flushed and cleaned the tank, changed the fuel filter, and put new fuel in?

Older fuel is harder to combust, gets more like varnish... Was a problem for me.

Yeah, I've flushed out most of the old fuel and topped it off with new stuff, should only have a little old gas left in it.

I've solved the float issue, found some sediment/garbage in one of the seats. I took a bunch of jets and pins out, cleaned them out... found a few more clogged. It runs pretty decent now, but still has a little fuel delivery issue. It seems one of the primary venturis is drawing too much fuel, it's just dribbling and dripping while the car idles. Once above idle it's not noticable. I figure theres another passage gunked up, guess I'll tear down the carb and try to blow everything out.
