Wtf Premix = Big backfire?

Today i was having a spirited drive (trying out my first tank of premix as im unsure if my omp works) following my cousin in her Rsx through twisty backroads! Then we pulled onto the main road to go to pizza hut. I was just driving normal/ slowing down and a huge POP! sound happens...( sounded like a gun shot!) I look around dont see anything wrong. So what happened? When you premix does it backfire alot?

I used about 8oz of Stihl high perfomance 2 cycle oil. The tank was about a gallon away from being full. Did i mix it too rich? How bad does backfire damage the exhaust? Also when you backfire does it shoot a big flame?

Not likely to cause any damage, but too much oil can hurt HP.
I ran premix for a while, when waiting for my custom front cover to be completed.I also had my mech. OMP hooked up,but only running on idle setting.I left the mech OMP hooked up just to keep the hole in the front cover blocked, the pull rod was not hooked up,but it was pumping a little.
I ran Chevron 2-cycle in the tank at about 150:1 ratio. My topend power was WAY down and it would even cut-out on occasion.I never even thought about it being related to over-oiling until I got my S5 OMP hooked up and put in a fresh tank of straight gas.My topend power was immediatley back and it ran flawlessly the moment I eliminated the excess oil delivery.

I run 16oz to a tank w/ no OMP and she runs like a champ, pulls harder and all. I don't get the big backfires tho, just small ones. You may have a leak in your intake or exauhst, that can cause that.

It was after I got home I went to work on my FD I needed to ground the battery for it good, then I hear something going by at a preaty high rate of speed (I always look to see tho it is if it doeasnt sound familiar just becouse maybe its a 7 ) and its a cop then about 2 minutes later another one and then another one followed right behind him I couldnt stop smiling for the rest of the night. It wouldnt be so funny but the cops never drive down my road since I know the sheriff preaty good and my wife is good friends with the states constiple.
