ya timming is out, but ive had my turbo glowing like that many times, and its still fine, but thats usually after a bit of fun

 

D A M N !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You'd think that would start to melt everything around it, it's so hot its almost transparent. WOW.

 

Heh...It's probably several hundred degrees cooler in that photo than it was!
Cast iron can take it, and the blades are alloyed for it.

 

if that woulda been an aftermaket turbo, you woulda prolly seen the blades spining. Thats too damn hot. Red is normal, almost transparent is not.

 

VW 1.8Ts can get red hot also, when they boost up 24-26psi for long periods. which they were never meant to do.

Getting your turbomanifold and exhaust housing to glow is not uncommon. Dont worry about it, it wont damage anything. Just dont stop it when it is like that. Check your timing.

^^^Thanks Everything kool now.....adjusted my timing and i also had bad spark plug wires and crossed igniter plugs
and i installed the transistor trick circuit(KENT's <<<GSLSE ADDICT) and woohoo!!!
fuel is burning better
