^Me Too. Paint code is in engine compartment, on metal VIN plate on right side firewall.

V3 would be Tender Blue Metallic.

if its a GSL-SE and you look at the drivers door jamb and the build date is 3/85 or newer the painted mirrors are factory, and it should have bronze tinted glass too

I didn't know that. My car is a 12/83 GSL-SE and I have a bronze tinted sunroof although that could have been swapped out at some point.

The pic of the back of the car says GSL.

its like the las t boat load of GSL-SE's got the special glass and painted mirrors*. there is no badging on the cars, no special brochure nothing, but the cars and the parts catalog to prove it

*only in V3 blue, white, black (yes there are black PAINTED mirrors), silver, and the maroon.

looks like color code L6 to me. that would make it ocean blue metallic. V3 is tender blue as mentioned and there looks to be a sea foam green hint in the paint from the picture but i could be wrong...the paint code is the only surefire way to tell.

this is L6 ocean blue:

this is V3 tender blue:

There is some confusion about the name of the L6 color. I think Rhyl is a typo. I think they meant Royal Blue. In the RX-7 brochure for 85 it is listed as Ocean Blue Metallic. Everywhere else it is listed as Royal Blue.

Here's a thread where it was discussed several years ago.

the color name on the charts at paint stores is wrong. Mazda listed the color as Ocean Blue Metallic. the paint stores list it as Rhyl Blue for some strange reason but it was originally called Ocean Blue. i have an original brochure with it listed. L6 was only available in 1985 and was available more commonly in the southern U.S and the western U.S. Mazda listed it as a special color that was more available by a geographic location than other colors. another color with odd availability and only available one year 1985, was Custom Silver Metallic. it replaced Tornado Silver in 85, but was phased out by Mazda in 1986.

that most certainly is K3. but note the S4 vert wheels which indicates a 5-lug swap and the darkened turn signal and marker lenses.
