what is the color code for Ocean Blue from the 85 RX-7 color list? is it L6?

 

L6 is Royal Blue Metallic

Oh wow my car is tender blue!! (my 85 S) and my GSL-SE is sunbeam silver.

 

I can't find any reference to that color either.

 

The only reference I can find to Ocean blue is Royal blue which is L6. You can see the color via the attached link.

i wonder if anyone has an actual ocean blue car for reference. they are few and far between. Manntis, are you sure that Royal Blue is a color? perhaps in Canada, Ocean Blue was Royal Blue...i dunno, just trying to get to the bottom of this, lol.

Yes but I took it further when I searched and found the post by someone that stated that Royal blue was Ocean blue.

That is true.
However that link does not contain Ocean blue which seems to be a fanthom color.
The only reason I found that members stated that Royal blue was the same thing was by sifting thru a ton of threads. :-)

 

Royal Blue must be a name used for a different market such as Canada or Europe. the brochure for the U.S. spec 85 RX-7 states Ocean Blue Metallic as one of its colors. the amount of 7's produced in that color seem to be few and far between...

 

mine is the L6 code i thought it was royal blue but what do i know i just own one with the code.

yes its an 85 its called royal blue there is another guy in town with the same color. the color is not as rare as you think it is but it does look good

 

well, here's where i am getting "ocean blue" from. here's a pic of the color list from my 85 RX-7 brochure:

 

maybe thats what Mazda started to call it then changed it. or its a typo. who knows the real answer but Mazda. you might want to try to go down to one of the dealer ships and try to order that color for touch up or something to see if its the same thing.

 

dunno if it was changed or was a typo. either way i love the color. if you have more pics of your car inside and out, i'd love to see them!!!

 

anyone else have an L6 paint coded 7?

 

mor pics you say let me get the engine swap done and the body kit and it repainted and you can look at all the pics you want. also do you work in a paint shop in ohio?

 

no i dont work in a paint shop. i'm a police officer. however, i've spent most of my years rebuilding rx-7's. i wish i owned a paint shop though, lol. my father does but i never can seem to find time to get a car over there to paint it.
