WTB Oil Filter Pedestal
WTB Oil Filter Pedestal
WTB-I need the oil filter pedestal so I can get rid of the bee-hive cooler on my 83 REX. I just need the pedestal, I have all the rest of the parts. Thanks, DICK
this is what i'm planning to do...use the old beehive AS the oil filter pedistal and just disconnect the coolant and oil lines from it(using a front mount oil cooler for the cooling)

I wonder if you could do both? There's nothing wrong with my pedestal oil cooler, and it's gonna have new o-rings... I could just run *both* !

There's a chance coolant could heat the oil.
I'm currently debating whether to use a beehive that's been stretched to fit a 13B, or just make up some oil lines and run a front mount cooler. I know what you're gonna say. I do have a fairly decent reason for using a beehive right now though.

Go to a parts yard and pull the pedestal from a pre-83 FD/SA or find a 86 - 87 FC and yank the pedestal from it.
I suppose you could use the air/oil and water/oil coolers but why? Because it's there?

You got that right. I have seen a pic of a CD (RX-5) Cosmo with a beehive and a stock-looking air oil cooler. http://www.fuzzypants.com/****/cars/cars017.jpg
As for me, I think I decided to just go with an air oil cooler instead of messing around with the beehive.
