Wow! What kind of brake set up is this?

I saw this cool brake set up in MazdaSpeed and I am wondering a braking set up like this can be effective? I mean better than the normal single disk braking system?

It would definitely cope with heat better, and wear less, but you would have to modify/upgrade the rest of the system, otherwise the pedal pressure required to make it work would be twice as high as one caliper.

Oh i c, hmmm... so that means if I go to do something like this I would maybe have to change the PowerBooster, MasterCyclinder and some of the lines in order to make something like this work? Maybe I would have to go to a expert to get this kind of work done. By the way what you think the cost for something like this would be?

My opinion is that it is totally not worth it. Two GSL-SE calipers are way too heavy.
Completely useless on the street and probably SCCA as well. I can't think of any good advantage to it except two calipers sharing the heat buildup, but the rotor can't dissapate the heat as well with it covered that much more.
To me, (and most people) a good brake upgrade would be 4 piston calipers from a FC, or GSL-SE calipers/rotors.
What are your goals for an upgraded braking system? Is it for a track car?
Doing something like this is pretty drastic..

i agree with jayroc. upgrade to fc if possible. not worth the extra weight and time for fabrication.
