Wow, been gone a while.....

I've been away for probably a bit over 2 years now. I was under the impression that I'd have to get rid of the RX-7 in favor of my Mustang (which has back seats), when my son was born. Well, almost 2 years later, I still have the RX-7 and she is pretty much mine to keep. So, I'll be spending the next couple of months clearing out her cobwebs, both litteraly and figuratively. Then perhaps I'll spend a few dollars on my RX-7 and get a few things done I've been meaning to do for the poor interior, but I've a few questions.

A: Aside from finding stock seats at a recycling yard, who makes the best seats for a FB?

2: Is there anywhere else, other than Mazdatrix, that has interior trim panels for the FB?

3: Does anyone sell a carpet kit to replace the floor carpet in the FB?

Thanks for all your help on this. I'm hoping to get the thing cleaned out in the interior and then do a little tidying up externally as well. Mainly, she needs a good steam cleaning of the engine bay and a very thorough washing and waxing of her exterior. She could really use paint, but I just dropped $10,000 into my Mustang not to long ago!

Victoria British has a ton of stuff, you just have to request a catalog...

http://www.victoriabritish.com/

Take a look in the forsale section and see what you can find,.

A: Mazda makes the best, only they were put into the 2nd gen turbo.

Also with the child you should look at trying to find a rear seat maybe. The rear seat would probably work ok for a baby seat and decent until your kid gets to be about 7 years old.

What color's your interior? I find decent carpet at the wreckers from time to time but stopped getting it because mine is decent now and I have a backup also. But I could keep my eyes open...

I prefer the '84-'85 cloth seats myself to all first gen. Dunno anything about the 2nd gen seats.

I've managed to keep my RX7, too, after having my child for three and a half years, now. I had similar concerns about child seating; however, i bought a Tacoma crew cab to satisfy the baby!
As for my RX, I'm not letting go! I hope even he'll get a kick out of this old car one day! Maybe I should go ahead and buy another one for him, now, while they can be purchased for less than $5k!

Well, between the Minivan and the Mustang, I don't have child seat issues. The RX-7 is my toy. Maybe one day, it'll even be a 20B project. Until then though... A toy.

Thanks for the info. I'll check Victoria's Secret, I mean Victoria British out!

I also have a parts car that I might be able to sell some interior stuff off (seats, etc.) depending on the color you need.

I believe I have a grey interior, but I'm wanting to do an all black interior with a grey exterior. The reason being, I'm planning to paint the RX-7 in a few years with a dark charcoal grey color. I know Ford has a Dark Shadow Grey that looks awesome, and is the color I want to paint my Mustang.

Ok cool. Grey and red are my colors but like you, I've always wanted black. Good luck!

Heck even grey would be better than red but it's just too much work to swap it. hehe
