WOW!!! 35psi oil pressure at idle at temp, could this cause a power loss....

I live in minnesota, it has recently dropped in temp here dramatically, average is 30F a day and dropping.

My oil pressure has shot up, (at temp) 35 at idle and 70+ by 1700 it starts with ease every morning though.

anyways, could this cause a noticable power loss. My friend was telling me my car is way slower than it was in the summer. I had somewhat noticed.

what kind of weight should I be running in this temp.

Well, naturally, the oil pressure will be greater in cold weather, during warm-up. As far as the oil weight, 10W30.

do you think it could cause this loss of power,

I was also thinking to check that little filter in the carb, i bet its never been changed.

No, it wouldn't cause a loss of power. The fact that you HAVE pressure is good. Check your fuel or ignition system for power loss.

mine sits at about 40psi at idle after its warmed up and driving around sits aat about 80psi. I would think that sounds normal.

Well at 750 idle its like 20 or so, go to about 1500 and its almost 50 ... So its not a bad thing, but I do wanna argue the point of oil weight versus pressure Who wants to start first?

Hmmm, Its really cold here right now, wouldnt that cause it to run a little lean. I have stock jetting with all my mods (sig) so its allready running lean.

thats probably it.

whatever, its going in storage in 4 days for the blown 13b to go in.

Ohh, and I fried my clutch today. It shakes alot now.

I was showing off to my girlfriend by pulling a bootleg turn at 50mph.

I ended up going backwards at about 15mph with my rear tires moving at about 50.

kuhmos smell funning when turned to smoke.
