Would it damage anything to run the car for a couple miles with no exhaust manifold?

Dont ask why, just would it hurt anything to dump the exhaust right out of the ports with a heat shield to block the exhaust from going to the intake area? Just driving for a short distance, to get the car from one place to another? Yes I know it will be unbearably loud and heat the engine bay up like mad, I just need to know if it would damage anything for the short trip.
I drove with ONLY a manifold for over a month, with no trouble (aside of the sound).
I can't imagine, with that small of a manifold, that there will be any difference between with, or without a manifold.

lol, i intend to run no exhaust, pull off all removable body panels, and if its legal at the dragstrip, remove the windshield and all other windows, and just a couple dragstrip runs to see what it is capable of before I scrap the car for good
She's seen better days.... much better days. But I wanna get in that nice stock port, NA, non-nitrus, zero performance part, 13 second run just to prove the naysayers wrong before I kill her, lol

dude, im just saying, i think it will be hard to shave like 5 seconds off the car with only weight reduction, i dont think your state of mind has anything to do with it either,
good luck on it though

back to the original question of would it hurt anything? yea it would hurt a lot of things. no o2 senor to start with causes it to run rich. if the car is runing rich then the burn could last and be burning outside the block, the engine won't get clean air. rotary's already run a lot hotter than piston engines, i hate to thing of what you would melt by dumping that kinda heat into the engine bay. it's not a good idea, i'd put the maniflod on for the trip, doesn't matter if you dont' have a new gasket, it's not that far of a trip you said, jsut have it on the get the heat out the engine bay. the performance would also be hurt by that kinda heat built up in the engine bay.
Sounds stupid to me. Drove around with only manifold a couple of times; was surprised nobody called the cops and my engine did not catch fire.
If you need an exhaust manifold they are a dime a dozen; don't ask me I threw my 2 spares in the garbage.

12A's don't have O2 sensors, they don't have any electronic control of fuel delivery anyway, so thats not an issue. The added heat in the engine bay is a potential problem. The idler arm will especially hate you, I wouldn't be suprised if you melt the idler arm bushings, makeing your steering go quickly to pot, and potentially causing your car to become unstable. Just stick the manifold on, it will send the heat under the car, and away from the intake.

. that would be extreme temps right near rubber hoses and wires. my vote is dont do it.

what you do is take two 2" pipes and have them with a 90* bend and then point them over and down......
cause without anything there... well.... it just kills performance more than helping it..... atleast have some 2" pipes man.... open header.....
or just use the stock manifold till you get there, and then take it off to run it... be VERY careful though....... cause it prolly will start a fire...
