make sure you check for rust under the car by that spot because on one of mine that i was driving it did the same thing as urs but also those connecting rods that hook to the axle rotted right off of the body and my whole car would turn every time i shifted haha.

Hmm, I'm thinking some strong 1/4" 45 deg corner steel (angle iron is what we call it by..but really steel) for that problem spot..No one would see it, and i'd run it the whole damn length of the seam. I would think with some patience you could roll/bend 14 or 16 guage steel close enough for the other side..I would definately try this one at home..

well I called someone for an aproximate and he said it would run into the thousands because of time...

My cousin that lives in VA is a pro welder, although he's at work right now I'm thinking of calling him up one weekend so he can do my car as well as some weld work on his acura...what welding equipment should I rent/buy?

I'm gonna have to do mine pretty soon too. My 85 GS has a bad case of the rust.... Luckily I've taken some welding classes for school. :-) I'd highly suggest a MIG welder or Gas Metal Arc Welder as some call it. I've tried several types of welding and I'd have to say that MIG is the easiest. If you can't get a MIG welder I'd just go with a torch and put a big tip on it. Anywhere from a #3-#5 probably.... Has anyone done a how-to on this? I'd still like to see someone else's approach to solving the problem...

For the entire wheel well fix on both sides it would be closer to $350
to bad your not closer to michigan
