wont turn over

Well I picked up my 84 rx7 today, put alot of MMO into it, turned it by hand...put more....got it turning real nice. But now the starter isnt starting...hehe. If its the relay can I just bypass it and put it on a push button? Also....how do you get the rear ignitor off?? well mines like on the side....by the alternator and cant get it out. and the screws almost stripped now

Heh, You have to pull the distributor to get the backside ignitor off. Why do you need to remove it anyways?

NO.. well wait.. I don't know about the GSL_SE buut the 12A'd cars the fuel pump runs constantly while the key is on, it has ABsolutely nothing to do with the igniters.

I can't believe I forgot to say this, Make sure the signal wire is hooked up to the starter also. It's a small wire with spade connector on it. This is a common reason why starters "go out". I had this happen once where I drove through a grassy feild/parking lot and the underbrush knocked the wire off my starter. Since my car was running obviously I didn't notice till the next day when I tried to go to work. Got in turned the ignition, Nothing. Hmmm, Check fuses and there ok, Battery was fine as everything else worked so I think starters out. I jacked up my car to pull the starter off when I noticed this little wire hanging and almost at the same time saw a small connection on the starter. Plugged it back in presto, No more problem!!!

why? just move the alternator out of the way OR use a ziggy screw driver.

I've done both and it's just easier to pull the distributor after marking it of course.

pull the starter and take it to your local parts store to have them check it
