wont start

hey guys, any help is appreciated here:

i let my car sit through the winter, everything was running good before i shut it off for a few months. now that spring is here, the car wont even turn over. it cant be the starter because i just got it changed. as well, when i tried push starting it, the tires remain locked. sounds like carbon lock... but i really have no clue. the tow truck guy said the engine wasnt cranking over either when he tried.

im taking it to a shop tomorrow, does anyone know how much they will charge usually to un lock it?

i hope its not too much!

any ideas, help!

thanks

From what I've read here, if the shop isn't a rotary shop, you're probably going to get a reccomendation for a new/rebuilt/used engine. Before carting it off to the mechanic, you might try looking up some of the MMO procedures that have been detailed. Check the faq sticky at the top of the thread list.

Ok first off your breaks are probably seezed that would explain the wheels being locked, especially if you left the parking break on while the car was stored.

Next if you did not disconnect the battery the battery is probably dead the clock and the radio both drain power 24/7.

So I would charge up the battery (which could be NFG - Get a load test done on the battery) and if you have a 12a make sure the choke is working propperly and then try and start her up.

I store mine, and I just took it out of storage and the breaks were seezed a little just form sitting I did not put the parking break on.

Any way there is no real hurry to take it to a mechaninc yet...
