GA wont idle

i have a 85 rx7 12a, and it had been my dd until some brake issues forced me to park it, i figured it would be a good time to remove the rats nest. I followed the tutorial from this site to the letter and it will crank but the tach immediately jumps to 2k rpm and it will run when i pull the choke but wont idle without the choke. Any ideas of what i did to cause it to do this
thanks
mj

You have a vaccum leak. Symptoms are classic. Somewhere, something did not get capped off.
