I'd say you have a hole in a vacuum hose.
1st guess is the one rear of the manifold.

ok well just checked that hose and there is no wholes in it at alll and it still dies after it warms up so when the choke is pulled it stays on but after it warms up it dies right away

the odds are still good you have a vacuum leak.

Break out the wd40, carb cleaner, shaving cream, etc and triple check for it.

if you don't find one tell us a little more about the car. Rat nest 12a-13 ...

and I or others with their own opinions will chime in with more ideas

This forum is a huge database. Not trying to be unfriendly at all, but you need to run some searches if you don't even know what idle your car is supposed be set to or what the rat's nest is.
Start with the stickies here. The "rat's nest" is that hose clusterfuck on top of your engine. If you're not sure, then chances are someone before you removed it.
Idle should be at 750 RPM. Is the idle adjustment screw visible on your carb, or is it covered with a bullet-like cap?

Don't go messing with the guts of the carb until you run through a checklist here first.

I agree reading the FAQ in the 1st gen archives and the sticky “Posting help for diagnostic problems” at the top of this Forum will save everyone a lot of frustration.

But is it was running great on Friday and won’t run on Saturday.
It’s not the floats. Everyone all together now “leave your Damm floats alone”

everything does lead towards a vacuum leak, quick way to check would be to raise the rpm (big phillips bolt under the throttle linkage area) tighten it a bit see if it will hold iddle, if it does then you have a vacuum leak.

The throttle cable should not effect idle

and the only failure mode is not having enough slack which raises the idle

but if your happy i'm quiet

many times novice mechanics adjust idle on carbs using the throttle cable, so in a way, the throttle cable DOES change idle, but only to mask the problem thats actually causing the idle fluxuation.

sorry, im just bein a dick, but you know what im getting at.
