Lightbulb Wont crank over after rats nest removed

Ok so I was doing some work on my 7 blah blah, Removed the rats nest prepping for Rb holley setup, so after I removed the rats nest I saw all these wires doing nothing, so I cut them all back at the harness and re-wrapped the harness. the only two that were left were the alt and the thermostat housing connectors. Since then I havent tried to crank her over or anything. I know the starter is good and the batterey is fully charged, and all connections to battery to starter are excellent.

Now since I removed the rats nest and all wires associated with it, I installed a carter hi pressure fuel pump with its own relay, and installed hi-power fog lams up front. I got in this morning to try and crank her over and nothing happened. the radio works the lights work the fuel pump works just not cranking over.

I dunno if if one of those wires on the rats nest was doing something importantt? or am I missing a step?

Please let the Gods speak!

Cheers

Usually when a mysterious combination of seemingly unrelated circuits causes dimming or outright on/off conditions it is because of a lifted ground someplace. Most novices underestimate the importance of good ground straps.

But nowadays there are even more opportunities for weird stuff as the number of circuits wired "hot", i.e., normally hot with the switch completing a circuit to ground, has increased a lot. And that's a whole new debugging burden.

I've solved a bunch of electrical problems on a bunch of cars over the years and I still make mistakes, usually by jumping to conclusions. I've got a problem right now that I have trouble solving, i.e., the Oil Pressure Gauge is pegging at the high end. I suspect that my Amateur Mechanic in training made a clumsy move and disturbed electrical connections, which is why I'm dumping him: he leaves as many new problems behind as he solved: I suppose he imagines that will leave him more jobs to do in the future. Wrong!
