Wondering if this kit will work on my carbs:

Well, the set of carbs I have was "identified" on my original post here as the Weber 36DCD. I've been searching Google, and it looks as though my carbs have this filter setup on them: http://www.racingbeat.com/resultset....rtNumber=16625 ... if so, instead of cleaning filters that have been sitting for 17 years, would I be better off getting 2 of these http://www.racingbeat.com/resultset....rtNumber=16624 instead? But, I'm just going on the assumtion that they'll fit. Any theories?

For reference here is my engine bay:

Thanks!

Those won't fit... I dont think. They are for the bigger carb, the 48 and 51 IDA carbs. You need to find 2 filters for the 36 DCD carbs.

Before replacing the current filters, check them closely. They *could* be early K&N reuseable filters. If so, just wash them out, and re-oil.
Nice car, I saw the original thread. Very unique situation you have, enjoy every minute of spending time with your grandfather, and love him for the man he is. Years from now, you will look back on this as one of the best times in life.

not to nit pick, but you may want to clean the engine bay out before just replacing the filters or else the filters will look like they do now before you know it. I would know because I have a very dirty engine bay amd I am always borrowing my brothers K&N filter cleaner.

Lol believe me, I'm going to be working on it. Tough though as I'm skidding with not really knowing much about mechanics but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.
