wondering how to transport/cleaning
My girlfriends dad has two 1st gen rx7's. I might be buying one but have some questions about transporting it and also cleaning. It has been sitting at the edge of some woods just outside the city i live in. It obviously wont start and the tires are probably flat so what is the best way to load it onto a car trailer? I also noticed a few months ago a post about cleaning up a car thats been sitting outside for a long time. I searched for the post but couldnt find it. I read that when they sit out like that animals and bugs and crap will get in it and i was wondering the best way to get rid of them? animals are pretty obvious but spiders and stuff. do you fumigate the car somehow? Thanks for any advice you can give

I wouldn't do that you could tear off the exhaust, take a set of wheels and tires and change them or if the ones on it are bad have 2nd hand tires put on it until you get it running.
The starting procedure for your car is easy, but we need to know if its a carb or Fuel Injected car.

I have a list things to do in this post, also check for rust under bins, brakes (at very least blled them and clutch)

bottle of compressed air or an air pump and inflate the existing tires. They might hold air long enough to get it on the trailer and...?
Fumigation: avoid using any pesticide INside the car. To many materials (carpets, underpad) that will hold the chemical and kill YOU off Also some of those pesticides actually damage plastic! Worth the time to remove as much of the interior as possible (seats, rear carpet, spare, trim panels if needed, etc.) and get in there with a vacuum. you can then buy an automotive carpet cleaning/foaming agent and then follow up with a wet-vac to get the suds out. Do likewise to seats if they have a cloth insert. Engine, etc you can steam clean, though protect the electricals by wrapping in plastic/avoid direct spray.
Welcome to the RX7 world - stay tuned here for lots of good advise as you go-

you never know if it'll start or not...you could do a quick oil and filter change...as well as rad fluid and as much of the old gas as possible...then put alittle starter fluid in the carb...normally not a fan of starter fluid in the carb...but you never know if it has good compression and nothings obcviously seized when you turn the clutch fan...you never know it might just start...in that case...a quick tire change and you could drive it home...had a friend who bought an mx-3 that sat for 2 years with old gas, fluids, and everything and in the middle of winter last year at -48 it started up on the second roll over...which just goes to say you never know!
