Was wondering what a 13b 4 port short block weights? will also have water pump/housing/front cover installed. thanks

 

I shipped one once. Block, flywheel, oil pan, no intake, no exhaust, no dist, no rats nest. Weighed 325 on the shipping company's scales (including a pallet that weighed approx 20-25). Should be right at 300-310 for the block as listed above.

 

i would say 250 or so.

Couldnt be that much.
Ive pulled several FC 13B's out at the wrecking yard with my bare hands.Standing on the strut towers and grabbing the oil filter stand and waterpump snout.No manifolds or turbo on them,but with the flywheel,oilpan and front cover intact.Im no body builder,but Id say for the shortblock,around 220-200lbs.

the short block weighs 197lbs without the water pump.

 

That should be right. I once shipped a 13B shortblock (S4 NA) and it said 95 or 97kg (can't remember exactly, but it was either one of those) on scale. Of course the scale wasn't 100% acurate, as it was a normal household one.
Shortblock is not to be compared with piston engine short blocks. Those are without heads etc. Rotary shortblocks are complete engine, without accesoiries (with flywheel, but no waterpump, no manifolds...)
