Wiring up a shift light...

I'm wiring up a small shift light on my FB... Question is, can I use the signal wires for the buzzer?

Oh-man.All i'll say is,, be carefull, when it comes to wiring
from the guage cluster and such. Maybe something separate, with an adjustable ****. say from a guage dimmer.and install a light somewhere in the guage cluster, so you can control at what rpm you want the light to come on at. just a thought.

You need this, so you don't **** up your car.
RPM Activated Switch.

I have a small shift lite on my steering column, just left of my Lean/Rich and Knock gauge.

Thanks, I think...

Wanna hear something funny? The Black Magic Fan I have for the radiator, prevents me from using the A/C and P/S pulley on the main engine pulley. Not enough clearance.

Looks like I might have to get a smaller slim-line type of E-Fan, or figure something else out.

What do you two fools, er... guys, run for e-fans and how much clearance do you have from the main pulley.

(pics would be nice too)

I don't have a fan yet but plan on running your run of the mill 16" spial or something like that, they are pretty slim. Maybe make a custom shroud so it covers the whole rad core. What hits the main pulley? The shrouding?

Greddy Profec B Remote Boost control switch

Otherwise known as the "instant extra 100 HP" switch, or the "Oh **** switch", or the "Can't touch this" switch, or the "How do you like me now" switch, etc..

Theoretically you could wire into the over-rev buzzer (might want to remove the buzzer however) as long as you could set the rheostat on the tach(buzzer) to activate at the RPM you were wanting.

You don't need the MSD's to use it at all. The RPM activator switch CAN work with MSD boxes, etc. But they aren't needed.

I was gonna wire my Shift lite to the Haltech Output, but decided to run it independently just in case.

Yep... I did.

I used a blue high intensity led mounted in the gauge cluster between the speedo and tacho. I made a little holder for it (out of a rubber grommet and inline fuseholder of all things ) and it looks almost stock. Extremely bright too considering it's only one tiny led.

There's also a pot on the tacho circuit board that allows you to adjust the rpm of the buzzer or in this case shift light. Just make sure it's the right one as there's another pot that is used to fine tune the tacho rpm. I set mine to come on at about 8200rpm.
