Wiring Harness.....difference between 82 and 83?

I have put an 83 engine into an 82 car. The harness fits together but I have noticed that some of the wires are a different color and some of the connections go into empty connectors.
Has anybody run into any problems with this? Is there anything I need to worry about?
There seems to be 3 that are questionable that I have noticed.

THere can be quite a few unused connectors in a fb engine bay, I would only worry if something did not work. OR you could take pics and someone here will be able to tell you what the connector does.

I have all the wire colors written down and where they go for both the engine as well as the car, if that helps at all.
Lets hope so!

buy a FSM and wiring harness diagram for both the donor car and the recieving, that should explain everything.

I was hoping that a member here had some experience with the 83 engine into an 82.
They may be able to tell me of problems IF any that they may have run into.

Talking

Never got around to the rx.
I did put some atf fluid in the cylinders and fried the starter i think and gave up. Thinking of geting back at her again. Did the atf do damage by sitting in there for a year?
I would LOVE to get this car going, it has never started since i did the motor swap like 5 years ago(maybe i should start a new thread on the whole thing).
Anyways if anyone has run into the motor swap by placing an 83 ingine into an 82 car , let me know about the wiring and any other problems you might have encountered.
Hope someone can help me!!!
I so want to drive my rx again someday soon.

I've put an '82 engine into an '83 car. So far the only problem I'm having is fuel related. I think the carb really needs a rebuild bad!

Hey alien did you encounter any problems at all with the wire harness since they do not line up exactly(some of the wires go into blanks now)
