Wiring 6 ports open, and carb jetting

I might be wireing my 6 ports open untill I can get my new exhaust. Basiacally I have no way to acutate them now. Since the ports would be open at idle, and I'm using a weber, do you guys think I would have to change any of my jetting?

are you thinking you may starve the engine for fuel?

Do the air pump mod to get them working, unless you've removed it. Ive heard it beats the the exhaust back pressure anyway. https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...d+5th+6th+port
Wire them up if you dont have the means...

I could do the air pump mod, but I really dont want the airpump. I may just leave the ports closed untill I get my exhuast. reason being is the 6 ports make power around 4K, and this is a new motor and I shouldn't be going over 4k anyway. It'll keep me from over reving during break in.

if its a newer motor, i would personally stick with the leaner settings you have.

yeah thats a pretty good idea, the first 100 miles were from my failed attempt at fuel injection. 100 miles of the thing running richer than all hell. PLugs fouling after 3 minutes. You get the idea.
I'll just keep the ports closed then.

yes they do. I work at mazda, and we get flooded rx-8s in every other day. Allways the same problem... "I started it up, moved it 5 feet and shut it off, now it wont start! WHAT HAPPENED?"

Let your ******* cars warm up people! Of course everyone here knows that.
