Wiper switch doesn't work

Hey, so Im new to this forum and Ive been trying to find a solution to the reason why my wipers wont work.

I have an 85 RX-7 GSL-SE and Ive had a problem with neither the front or back wipers working, Ill flip the wiper switch but alas nothing happens, its become quite annoying so any insight is greatly appreciated. Ive heard of the wiper switch and relay repair with re-soldering the contacts but i know nothing about that.

Did you check your wiper fuse first?

switch contacts might be corroded, time for vinegar/naval jelly and q-tips

Well I tried cleaning the contacts but I'm still unable to use the wipers. Hmm I'm curious, do the wires need to be connected to the rear wiper on order to complete the circuit? Or is it it's own?

my rx-7 doesn't have a rear wiper maybe it is time to invest in a $10 continuity tester

Does your new motor work while disconnected from the wiper rack ?

If so your rack is seized & needs to be removed & broke free. Use a spray lube to get it sloppy loose then lube pivot points with a wheel bearing type grease.
Gets dirty in the cowl area after thirty years.

No help with rear other than sand & clean switch. Could jump wires to test.
