Wiper Motor Rebuild
I have removed the wiper motor and linkage, boy that was a fun afternoon.... The linkage is fine, which surprised me actually but it isn't even hardly rusted at all.
Anyway, the motor is shorted out so I guess I'll just have to buy a new one. Any suggestions on who to buy one from?

I went through 2 used (off a junker ) wiper motors. There are allot of people here that have junkers who will help you out.
Lube the wiper linkage bushings while you have the assembly out.
Point is, if you get it from a junk yard, save your reciept

drummer?
Hey bliffle you may be showing your age, like me. Yes, I played drums and was a percussion major in college. But the moniker is in memory of a high school buddy who also played drums. We had a running debate about who was the best drummer, Gene Krupa or Buddy Rich. If you understand all that then you must be at least in your late fifties and a big band fan.
As for my wiper motor I'm trying to wring out the motor this weekend with an electronics buddy to see if we can determine if the problem is in an external connection point which we could repair or if it's internal like a shorted winding. If it's internal then I'll simply buy a replacement, my vision is too poor any my patience too short to attempt rewinding motors and transformers.

Wiper Motor Resolved
Thanks for the tips everyone but I was able to sell the car "as is" so now it's the new guys problem (along with the oil leak). I told him about this club and forum so he may show up in week or so looking for the wiper motor.
