Winter Project begins...

Well now the garage is all cleaned out and we have the 2 7's in there. This winter im repainting mine for sure so im gonna get me some sanding **** and bondo for the hail damage. Anyways my main question is, once again, color. Not so much about color, but color scheme.

My car is orriginally a red. Meaning the door jambs, the engien compartment, hatch area, and of course the entire body are all painted red. I want to change to either a rx8 velocity red, or black. Im definately leaning more towards black thou. If i went black what can i get away with not painting without it looking cheap or tacky? i know that painting everythign is the best choice, but thats alot of **** to do. I know that im going to paint the door jambs, because taht is tacky looking. But engine compartment is my main concern so any ideas are welcome

I would stick to the original color but thats just me, I really don't like it when the engine bay ect. is a different color than the body, and it would be a huge pain in the *** to paint it black the right way.........

I'm not a painter, but I know black is really difficult to get right. But's it's also very cool if you do get it right. When I restored my MGB I had it painted in the original black, and it really looks great, especially with the red interior. The red interior may not be the best choice on an RX-7, but it looks great on the 'B ;-)

I agree...if you're going to change colors, do it right. Door jambs, engine bay, etc...
