Winter Project begins...

Well now the garage is all cleaned out and we have the 2 7's in there. This winter im repainting mine for sure so im gonna get me some sanding shit and bondo for the hail damage. Anyways my main question is, once again, color. Not so much about color, but color scheme.

My car is orriginally a red. Meaning the door jambs, the engien compartment, hatch area, and of course the entire body are all painted red. I want to change to either a rx8 velocity red, or black. Im definately leaning more towards black thou. If i went black what can i get away with not painting without it looking cheap or tacky? i know that painting everythign is the best choice, but thats alot of shit to do. I know that im going to paint the door jambs, because taht is tacky looking. But engine compartment is my main concern so any ideas are welcome

I would stick to the original color but thats just me, I really don't like it when the engine bay ect. is a different color than the body, and it would be a huge pain in the ass to paint it black the right way.........

I'm not a painter, but I know black is really difficult to get right. But's it's also very cool if you do get it right. When I restored my MGB I had it painted in the original black, and it really looks great, especially with the red interior. The red interior may not be the best choice on an RX-7, but it looks great on the 'B ;-)

I agree...if you're going to change colors, do it right. Door jambs, engine bay, etc...
