Winter Prep

So I'm getting ready to store my car for the long cold minnesota winter. I've got myself a car cover already but I'm wondering what other measures I should take to make sure nothing is damaged while its sitting. Should I drain the gas? Drain the oil? Any ideas?

all good stuff - I would add:
-lay plastic on ground under car so moisture doesn't wreak havoc underneath
-seal ALL engine openings:
ie: exhaust pipes and carb mouth - with plastic bags, zip lock ties.
If you are in an area where vermin (mice) are a prob, I would liberally spread moth ***** in and under engine compartment (NOT INTERIOR!!! Poisonous!) to ward off chewed harnesses...

I'm not too worried about the mice. When theres 2 or 3 feet of snow on th ground they dont like to be around lol. Animals probably won't be a problem.

I plan on parking it on a tarp, wrapping the tarp around the sides of the car, putting the car cover over that, stabilizing the gas tank, plugging all the engine holes, spraying in some fogging oil, and some of the other things from Aarons article. The car will probably only be sitting for a 3 or 4 months so I'm not too worried. I just wish I could find a garage to store it in.

Just make sure tarp wrap around sides don't create a "pool" where water can collect under the car on the tarp. That would be bad. I'd go with letting the tarp lay flat - let air circulate is the key. No way to seal a car from moisture, so air movement is best.
