Something to consider for the rubber seal material (if your printer can handle it). I've held a few of this material printed, it's a nice flexible piece. Have you tried smoothing out the surfaces in an acetone vapor box?

My rubber parts are made from TPU already.
You can't smooth TPU. The acentone vapor is for ABS mainly, does not work with TPU. For TPU the only thing is print at a finer layer height but then the print time is doubled so I would be looking at 12 hrs of print time for one complete set which would not make it cost effective for me to provide it to the community at a reasonable cost. I don't want to end up charging $80 for a set. I simply want to recoupe my cost and make a little on top to keep my 7 on the track and keep my hobby going.
Thanks for the feedback and suggestions.

I am back.
I've been super busy and this virus deal has changed schedules so I've only been able to make 4 sets that I think are good. I had to tweak the print to get them correct.
They are up now, you can search 79-85 MAZDA RX7 WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM COVER RUBBER KIT and they should come up in the search on google.
I appreciate anyone's feedback on this.
Thanks everyone again for the support.

P.S I got the new printer and will be working on the wiper nut cover soon.

Ray,
Cover is in the works.
This new printer is a whole other animal.
Is not as set it and forget it like my other one as there is significant post processing to the parts.
Hopefully I can crank out a prototype within the next 2 weeks.

Since you all have been following this in this thread, did not want to make another thread.
What do you think of the first test part of the wiper nut cover?
Ignore the broken part, I snipped that off as it did not come out correct.

Not sure exactly what you mean the pop up.
Can you explain again? Thanks.

they move up, like you turned the wipers on. I have to turn wipers on and then back off to get them to original position. assuming it's just slack in the assembly, but that's a lot of slack/play.

I will add that's all the parts have been removed when doing the build, but all the clips and such seemed to be in good condition and I have the wipers adjusted correctly so that when they are turned off they go just down to the trim. Just seems like a lot of slack, or maybe even the wiper motor has a little play and that's what does it, but when I get into 4th, which goes to 120 mph, and am getting on it, the wipers pop up every time from wind.

If the bushings are good then you should not have any slop in the mechanism. The park function, I am not 100% sure how that functions or if it can break.

park function??? you messing with me right now?, or is that a real thing in the wiper motor? I ask as the wiring is a hack job, and little chance that is hooked up if it is a thing.

Yes, if you look at the original wiring some wires go to a basic CPU which has a timer to keep the motor going even after you have turned off the switch so it can park in the down position. Again, not sure if this is your problem or your talking about mechanics slop.

Thank you. I would have never imagined. And no, I don't feel slop. so it's probably that park function.

I am sure this was the picture you all wanted to see. The fit is good. The material here is for test fit and looking into a tougher material, but the fit is very nice.

Thanks. Still testing for a nice smooth fit and tweaking the CAD. Those semi organic curves are a pain to model correctly.

Quick update to everyone. Due to the virus, there is a massive shortage of material for these parts. The one that do have it are charging 3 times the original cost. As soon as things normalize, we will get back into it.
The material for the nut cover should be here soon though, so that's a positive.
Thanks to everyone for understanding.

Been testing the new material and it's nice. Prints slightly translucent, but it's still black. It's semi flexible so it should be tough. Very happy with the results.

Would you be able to model the s3 demister vents? I have a new oem set of the left and right. Are you using solidworks and calipers or a combo of 3d scanning and modeling off the point maps?

Hi, which vents are you referring to?
If you can post a picture, that would be great.
Send me a pm and I can see what I can make happen. I also cast parts from originals like the door pull cups, so that's another possibility.
Thanks.

Thanks. Price is $30. At the moment nothing is for sale as I am out of town and can't return home due to the virus. As soon as I can return home, things will be back up. Thank you.
