Window trim removal
Any tips on removing the front window trim? Going to paint the car and need everything removed. I hate paint jobs that have trim and stuff taped off.

The trim along the top of the doors comes off first, pry from the roof side with a very wide blade (i used a very wide crowbar) too narrow and you'll put dents in the roof. be careful, slow and deliberate. once you have it off enough you will be able to get a grip on it and pull it carefully and evenly off the rest of the way. The side trims come off next, don't forget bottom screw you can get to when the door is opened. pry again with something wide on the windsheild side. note here, you WILL break most of the clips
Now's a good time to order the clip kit from Victoria british - I think all 24 clips or so cost less than $10. This includes the side clips and the top and bottoms.
The key is to just be very careful to preserve the moulding, and sacrifice the clips You may be able to find a moulding removal tool from pep boys/autozone/advance whatever that might make prying a little easier.

Definitely use the proper trim removal tool, unless you want to booger your trim and/or clips all to hell. The tools are available at most automotive paint supply stores at a reasonable cost. -WG
