window removal

I was at work the other night when my doorstaff threw a guy out of the club for being a douche. For some reason I decided to park in the first parking spot and the asswipe was pissed and needed to hit something. Well, that something happened to be one of my quarter windows under the hatch. I havent had the time to look at it but is it something that is going to need to go to a glass shop or can I just get the window of a scrap car and use it. What is needed to remove and install. THanks.

I am currently moving my rear quater windows from one car to another... Let me tell you, its a pain in the ***, get it professionally done...

But if you insist on doing it yourself (like me....) you need some piano wire and a couple 9v batterys to heat it up. You run the wire back and forth around the window, then it is hard to get a good seal when remounting the window as well. Get it installed professionally!

Take it to the glass shop and get an estimate, hand the bill to the club. They may feel more responsible for paying for it. The 1/4 glass can be a pita to get out. If the glass shattered, use a stiff back putty knife, 3/4" wide to scrape the old sealant out. Have a shop put it in.
