How much is my car worth (pics)

Basically I am getting told that $1000 is way to much for my RX-7. It has a Racing Beat intake, Edelbrok carb, Superstock coils, 20k on rebuild, fresh tans, Holley Blue electric fuel pump with FPR. All it needs to run is the fuel system hooked up and then turn the key. So am i asking to much for a no rust 85. Ill admit its a lil rough around the edges but what project isnt.

And hell I want to here what ya'll really think. Give it to me hard. No comment hurts me. LOL.

It's always worth more to you than anyone else. I would not pay $1,000.0 for it.

The rebuilt motor is your definite advantage. If you have the time, get it up and driving, and give it a real good cleaning. Such as wash and interior scrub down and what not. I would say $700ish if it were running and driving, and cleaned up nice.

I paid $800 for my GSL-SE..it is in 'pretty damn good condition'..someone needs to use that description in a car ad
of course the guy who sold it to me has plenty of new toys, and is up there in years
so maybe the value wasn't there for him
or he is senial

If I walked up on it looking like that, With no way to verify the engine. I would offer $200 or less.

IF you want top dollor it has to run, or you have to find someone that really really wants it. Put the door panel back on, Clean the **** out of the rear. Scrub the flaking paint off and wax it. Get it out of the weeds, And get it running.

Then 1K would not be unreasonable.

Well here is my plan for the rest of the evening if I can get my rollback started. GO and get the car from storage(BTW the guy who usually cuts the grass died poor old fella...thats the reason for the grass being high) Bring it to mmy lilttle work area ands start on it. Ive got an as load of degreaser to puton the engine and **** like that, already rented a steam cleaner and stuff like that....may send the door panels to get redone.....then Ill get it running and roll it into my paint booth. Well my uncles none the less. I think I may keep it....I am out of money and **** to work on. And the last time I tried to part anything....they wouldnt ship anything bigger than a streering wheel....wtf I hate UPS for that.

Anyways I had big plans for this car back when I got it. then things started going down hill. Thought I traded it for a Fiat then that didnt work out. So might as well make the best of it. And put back on that exhaust I designed(yeah the one that rolled over...I hate that shop. And I already have a paint color choosen out but imma keep it a secret for a while.

Thanks for the posts guys BTW

20k on rebuild- Who did the rebuild?
If you get it to run and you have proof that a reputable shop did the the rebuild its worth $1000+

If its not running $200.

I just got a 82 on ebay with 110K that runs good for 300 bucks.

If it's close to running, get it running. It's hard to really tell from the pictures, but it appears to be pretty much all there, not too rusty, etc. IMHO, any car that's driveable/semi-reliable is worth close to $1K, even if it looks like total crap. I think it's a little different with RX7s, though, due to the general public not really knowing how to deal with a rotary engine, mechanics not necessarily knowing what's up, etc.

As it sits, for parts, I wouldn't give more than a few hundred for it (say probably $400), and I could use some of the pieces. AS a runner, though, it's an entirely different story.

Short version: get it finished off and running, you'll do better that way.

So it has to be from a reputible shop for it to be worth that. Ha. A friend of mine did the rebuild right before I bought the car for the 2nd time around (yes Ive owned it before). First time I got it. Said it was rebuilt and then It turned out not to be. So I sold the shell to my friend and he rebuilt it. drove it for a while then the carb went to hell and I bought it back. Ive been trying to get ahold of him to see of ots streetported or not. Cause when I got it I slapped a newer carb on it and drove it until it went to hell and it was way faster then my 88GTU. So I dont think that a reputable shop comes into play. Plus the only ones I trust are Kevin Landers, and Speed Machine Performance. THose are the only repitable shops I can think of.

And that is the story of the motor in this car. And the rust on the motor I dont get it was nice and blue the day I got it. About 3000 miles later it looked like that. Can anyone explain that.

I would if I lived close to one. I just kinda noticed it one day when I stopped at a gas station(yep I pop the hood evergas station who dosnt)and it was like all gone. So yeah when I pull it to paint the enginbe bay probly gonna tear down and rebuild again and see what the internals look like. And see if there is any porting and if not do some and if there is do some more.

I'd say it's worth about $500; cheap enough where somebody can put alittle money into it and drive it around. And not too expensive to be used as a parts car.

ok heres my take on the matter.

a headlight switch for 1st gen rx7 - $200
taillight- $200 X 2
hatch glass - $750
hood, doors, sunroof - $1200
gas tank - $200

and the list goes on. this is prices for new parts but rx7's are like gold now. they r getting rare and the parts are very expensive to buy new.

I think $700 or more for a parts car even is reasonable
